“The King of Juco” Eric Sim Set to Join RedPocket Mobiles
Baseball Content Creator and Influencer Attends PBL Tryout Camp
The Pioneer Baseball League announced today that former professional player and content creator Eric Sim will sign to play as for the league under its unique "marketing player" exception that allows clubs to expand their roster for limited promotional player appearances.
Sim, widely known online as "King of JUCO," participated in the PBL's Arizona tryout camp in April, documenting the experience for his audience across YouTube and Instagram. His video covering the tryout experience was published this week on his YouTube channel and can be viewed here.
"I felt pretty good out there at the camp. My body was holding up well," said Sim. "The atmosphere was unreal, the event ran smoothly, and I can't thank the staff and coaches enough for everything they did to make this happen."
Sim is scheduled to play for both the RedPocket Mobiles and the Ogden Raptors during the first month of the 2026 season. He'll join the Mobiles on Sunday, May 24 when the league's historic barnstorming team takes on the Modesto Roadsters in Modesto. For tickets go to modestoroadsters.com.
Then on Tuesday, May 26 Sim will take his talents to Ogden, Utah as he dons a Raptors uniform for their home opener against the Missoula PaddleHeads. For tickets go to gopaddleheads.com.
"Having Eric play for both the Mobiles and the Raptors is a wonderful means to spread the word about all the good things that Pioneer League baseball brings to our local communities and the opportunities we provide to talented players looking to advance their careers," said PBL President Mike Shapiro. "On behalf of the Pioneer League, I can't thank Eric enough for his interest in the league and his willingness to strap it on for a few games this season."
Sim currently has more than 1 million YouTube subscribers and over 800 thousand on Instagram. His YouTube channel, @kingofJUCO, has surpassed 597 million total views.
Sim played professionally in the San Francisco Giants organization and reached the Triple-A level before building one of baseball's largest digital followings through content focused on player development, training, and junior college baseball.
